Reading key

The evidence standard

Every material statement should tell the reader what kind of claim it is and how much confidence the record supports.

01

Verified record

A claim supported by a directly inspectable blockchain transaction, proposal, publication or other primary record.

02

Party record

A statement or document published by a person or organization involved. Attributed, preserved and not treated as independent proof.

03

Allegation

A disputed claim that is material to the case. Reported in context and never presented as an established fact.

04

Unresolved

A gap the available public evidence cannot close. Missing records are identified without speculating about what they would show.

The central rule

Absence of a public receipt can establish a transparency gap. By itself, it cannot establish theft, fraud or personal enrichment.

Research method

How a case is built

Hive’s public ledger makes some facts unusually inspectable. It does not make off-chain contracts, fiat payments or private intent visible.

  1. 1

    Collect

Find the original post, video, proposal, transaction and statement—not just commentary about it.

  2. 2

    Trace

Follow public blockchain flows and time-stamped records while preserving links another reader can verify.

  3. 3

    Compare

Set public promises, observable activity and competing accounts beside one another.

  4. 4

    Publish

State the narrowest defensible conclusion, show the evidence, label uncertainty and log material corrections.

Publication principles

A record that can be challenged

  • Direct links. Readers should be able to inspect the source behind a claim.
  • Fair attribution. Competing accounts are attributed to the people making them.
  • Right of reply. Responses and documentary corrections belong in the case record.
  • Narrow findings. Conclusions stop where the available evidence stops.
